About this event
Get ready for a sunshine party with Africa Night Fever, featuring Grupo Lokito and The Zawose Queens.
Grupo Lokito create a modern-day cocktail of two of the great world music traditions. Fusing blistering contemporary Congolese grooves and soukous with the fire of Cuban rumba and salsa all under one roof.
The glorious, melodious vocals of Congolese front-men Eugene Makuta and Iddo Donnatella blend with the soaring guitars of Congolese maestro Mbokalia, the rhythmic grooves of Chocolat, and the lilting keyboards of Sara.
All of this sits on top of the rhythmic powerhouse team of Michel on drums, Emeris on congas, and Elpidio on bass.
Grupo Lokito are supported by The Zawose Queens, a band whose connection to nature, ceremony and ritual is evident in their dance-inspired fusion and modern day electronic vibe.
Delicious Afro-Caribbean food will be available from 6.30pm on the night from the Soul Food Sisters. No pre-booking necessary. Meat and vegetarian options are available.
Please note, this event is primarily configured for standing and dancing. Limited seating is available to book for those who require it. Seating will be positioned around the edge of the auditorium, and visibility may be impacted.
