Music

Chris Spedding with the Brighton Beach Boys

About this event

The Best-Dressed Man in Rock!

Chris Spedding supported the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park, played on sessions for Tom Waits, Harry Nilsson, Paul McCartney, John Cale amongst others, produced demos for the Sex Pistols, and headlined at The 100 Club when Punk was The Thing.

He has played Jazz, Fusion, RnB. Blues, Rock and Pop. He is quite simply one of the greatest guitarists this country has ever produced.

Chris Spedding is that man.

This show features music from across his illustrious career; touching on his long involvement in Pop, the early days with the Jazz Fusion of Nucleus and Ian Carr Rock, playing for Jack Bruce, Brian Eno and Bryan Ferry, and Punk as his career followed the changes in the cultural landscape of the 1970s.

Chris moved to the USA and spent years as a session player in New York and Los Angeles before a final return to the UK. He has played in 11 different bands (at least), and released solo albums from 1970 to 2014.

He has run with Wombles and Batts, battled through the War of the Worlds and played with too many Rockabillies to mention. Chris Spedding is a man with history in his fingers.

Featuring songs from across a 50-year career, and with The Brighton Beach Boys for company, this evening will be a fitting showcase of this man’s fabulous talents.
