David Bramwell’s The Haunted Moustache

About this event

After inheriting a mysterious, century-old moustache in a box, David Bramwell embarks on a 10-year odyssey to discover all he can about its former owner and why this singular object had fallen into his possession. His quest draws him into the underbelly of Brighton, its séances, spiritual churches and a seedy basement club where he unwittingly becomes the host of a modern-day freakshow.

Coming to believe that his ‘hairloom’ is possessed, Bramwell joins a cult and begins to dabble with sacred Amazonian plants.  Can he uncover the strange secrets of his inheritance? Where does Salvador Dali fit into all of this? And who is the mysterious Drako Zarharzar?

This award-winning 83% true show is a supernatural coming-of-age tale, an exploration into magic and an affectionate portrayal of Sussex’s rich counterculture and people.
