About this event
A merciless study of human nature.
Jean de Florette, hunchback city tax collector (Gérard Depardieu), inherits a little land with a freshwater spring in Provence. He happily packs up his loyal wife and their beautiful child and moves to the country to grow vegetables and raise rabbits on the land.
Director Claude Berri captures the relentlessness of human greed while recounting the story of how two provincial farmers systematically destroy the happiness of the man from the city, stealing his joy, his hope and even his future.
