Ropetackle Film Club: Tár

About this event

One of the must-see films of the season.

Revered conductor Lydia Tár has it all. Numerous awards, an amazing apartment, a supportive partner, an angelic daughter and her dream gig conducting the Berlin Philharmonic.

She is about to face the challenge of her glittering career – recording Mahler’s monumental Fifth Symphony – but, as her focus shifts to infatuations old and new, her perfect life begins to crumble.

Grappling with what it means to be an artist in the modern era has brought out the best in director Todd Field and his star Cate Blanchett, who delivers the performance of a lifetime.

  • Film Club Members free (no ticket required)
