About this event
Shoreham Port has a rich history having been in existence since 1760. It is central to the regional economy, stimulating trade and growth across Sussex and beyond.
Following on from Shoreham Port’s successful Sustainability Week in July, we are delighted to be welcoming Tom Willis, Chief Executive and Lydia Harvey, Sustainability Manager to talk about the Port’s journey in becoming one of only fourteen certified EcoPorts in the UK, and the innovative steps being taken to secure a green future for the Port.
Tom and Lydia will be joined by Sussex University lecturer Geoffrey Mead, a well-known local historian and geographer, who will provide a fascinating insight into the Port’s energy heritage, looking back to the days of coal, gas, tar and chemicals.
