The 5,6,7,8’s plus The Voo-Dooms

About this event

The Japanese all-female garage-rock trio from Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill film.

The 5,6,7,8’s hail from Tokyo and were formed in the early 1990s. Stylistically, the band take their inspiration from 50s and 60s rock ‘n’ roll and have been compared to artists such as Link Wray, Dick Dale, The Sonics, Bo Diddley, The Trashmen, Chuck Berry, The Detroit Cobras and more.

They featured in Tarantino’s 2003 blockbuster Kill Bill Vol. 1, where they performed covers of The Rock-a-Teens song “Woo Hoo”, The Ikettes song “I’m Blue”, and their own track “I Walk Like Jayne Mansfield”.

The 5,6,7,8’s are Yoshiko “Ronnie” Fujiyama (vocals and guitar), Sachiko Fujii (vocals and drums), and Akiko Omo (vocals and bass).

Support comes from garage punk rockers The Voo-Dooms.

A rare chance to see this electrifying Japanese rock trio live in the UK.

Please note, this is an all standing event.
