This whole day event of social history is a new venture exploring various aspects which have impacted the lives of ordinary people in Sussex from medieval times to the start of the twentieth century.
Led by Dr Clive Webb, Professor of Modern American History, University of Sussex and David Johnson, Vice-Chair Sussex CPRE, the Countryside Charity, the day has been organised in partnership with the many speakers and organisations listed below, it is hoped this will be first of more events encouraging us all to become “citizen historians”, understanding the place we live in and how it has been shaped.
There is also an evening event of Sussex folk songs which is free for those attending the day programme, but please apply for your ticket at the time of booking.
